Overview
We The Starborne is a metaphysical shop and a space for people to step out of mundane reality and into the non-ordinary. They aim to create a sense of remembering, like coming home to the parts of ourselves that have always known our magic is real. In their space, they rekindle humanity’s connection to the cosmos and the earth, to the past and the infinite, rooted in the knowledge that we are all made of stardust and that the divine lives within us and between us.
The Brief
Build two brands that act like sisters– of the same universe, but each unique. We The Starborne is to act like the big sister; a more androgynous, structured retail brand, the gateway to an unexpected world. Sister Starborne, the secondary brand, is the more feminine little sister. Meant to describe the services and talents of Cait; the owner of WTS and an astrologer, sound healer, and maker.
OUR APPROACH
Upon meeting, our client quoted Bjork, “I am childlike and ancient at the same time”. Building WTS was an opportunity to create a portal to the non-ordinary. Distinct, unexpected pairings of prismatic colors, texture, and type was the foundation of our approach when building this brand that is anything but usual.
Most notably, the suite of custom illustrations containing primal depictions of flora, fauna, angel numbers, cosmic elements, and little starbeams. These creatures act as characters that capture the personality of the brand. Overall, we leaned hard into co-creation, intuition, and channeling in the process of creating this brand.
